Like so many of these things it often starts with a dream, drawing upon my own fishing and diving experiences and the memories of building boats with my Dad as a nipper. Being an entrepreneurial and enterprising type, a management consultant for some of NZ’s leading organisations, and the co-founder of a handful of successful start-ups, I’m hell-bent on doing things right.
We searched far and wide for a boat designer who could marry aesthetics, performance and function flawlessly, and we think we hit the jackpot with Hall Marine Design. We reckon our design partnership with HMD will ensure that every Maverick designed will be nothing short of a revelation.
The axis of excellence would not be complete without an equally impressive boat building capability. We openly admit that we can be a bit fanatical when it comes to attention to detail here at Maverick so it was never going to be easy to find a manufacturing solution that could measure up.
Fortune favours and in June 2018 we kicked off a new chapter in the Maverick story when we joined forces with Wellington’s JJ Fraser engineering group, makers of state of the art fire and rescue appliances under the Fraser Fire & Rescue banner, to build Maverick boats in their high-tech production facility in the country’s capital city. Maverick Marine International is now fully primed for growth, both of our boat range and the markets we can serve.
We’re always happy to talk boats, any time of the day or night (almost). Give us a call or email and we’ll have a chin wag about getting you into your very own Maverick, and one giant step closer to the best boating experience of your life.
